Dominated by the majestic Château de Suscinio, Sarzeau sits proudly at the heart of the Rhuys peninsula. Facing both the Gulf of Morbihan and the Atlantic Ocean, the commune offers a wide range of beaches within a stone’s throw of the Sarzeau campsite: from the largest to the most intimate, there’s something to suit every taste for the best vacation ever!
Discover the beaches of Sarzeau
Morbihan has many animal parks that are well worth a visit. Here are the 3 largest parks:
– The Landrezac beach: a vast, pleasant beach with lifeguard surveillance, just a few metres from the campsite, which can be reached on foot.
– Suscinio beach: adjacent to Landrezac, 6 minutes by car. A beach in the heart of nature, close to bird sanctuaries and protected from the wind by the Pointe de Beg Lann.
Sarzeau’s central beaches
Closer to the center of Sarzeau, four beaches can be reached in less than 15 minutes from the campsite:
– The long, supervised Roaliguen beach is bordered by a landscaped promenade.
– Kerfontaine beach , with its family atmosphere and children’s club.
– The small beach of Beg Lann, appreciated for its calm.
– The small family beach of Saint-Jacques, with lifeguard surveillance and a sailing school.
– The small beach of Banastère, perfect for fishing at low tide and swimming at high tide.
Water sports activities during your stay in Morbihan
For a sporting vacation, you can enjoy all kinds of water sports on Sarzeau’s beaches. For example, you can go kitesurfing, windsurfing, paddleboarding or canoeing at sea or in the Gulf of Morbihan.
Would you like an instructor? At the Pointe de Penvins and Saint-Jacques beach, Sarzeau’s nautical center offers windsurfing board rentals, as well as numerous courses in wingfoil, sand yachting and water walking. Initiation to sailing is also available for children and adults, in Optimist, dinghy or even catamaran.
Excursion to the islands of the Gulf of Morbihan
To fully discover the region’s riches, there’s nothing like getting on a boat! The many islands that populate the interior of the gulf have their own identities and stories to tell: l “île aux Moines, l” île d’Arz, Gavrinis… Opt for a cruise to better immerse yourself in their secrets.
On the ocean side, Sarzeau faces three of the most beautiful islands in the Ponant. The largest, Belle-Île-en-Mer, with its Vauban Citadel and famous Pointe des Poulains, and the duo formed by the charming little islands of Houat and Hoëdic.
Enjoy the unspoilt natural beauty of Presqu’ile de Rhuys
In the Gulf of Morbihan Regional Nature Park, vacations rhyme with the great outdoors. Breathe in the fresh, iodized air as you hike the customs trail (GR34) or cycle the greenway.
The Rhuys peninsula abounds in natural treasures, with its beaches, marshes and wild creeks. You can also explore the bird sanctuaries near Suscinio beach or theObservatoire du Marais du Duer, in Sarzeau.
If you want to learn more about the richness of the local culture, be sure to visit the salt marshes of Lasné, in Saint-Armel, or the many oyster beds. You can even discover them on a kayak trip!
